Opelousas - Memorial and Military Services for John Crozier Lorenzen will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel of Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.
John was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on
Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his home in Opelousas.
He was a Foster Care Caseworker with the State of Louisiana DCFS for many years.
Mr. Lorenzen was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country in Germany during the Vietnam War Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post 45 of Opelousas.
Some of his favorite pastime activities that he enjoyed included foxhunting with the Chula Homa Hunt Club, sword fighting with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), and riding his BMW with the Swamp Scooter Motorcycle Club. He was an avid horseman, bicyclist, motorcyclist, runner, sailor and Civil War Reenactor. He was an outstanding gentleman, who was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wood Lorenzen of Opelousas; stepdaughter, Stephanie Harper; brother, William Lorenzen III of Tampa, FL; two step grandchildren, Sofia Monteleone and Sebastian Monteleone; and three nieces and nephews who were very close to him, Michael Lorenzen, Elizabeth Lorenzen, and William Lorenzen IV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Albert Lorenzen II and Marie Louise Crozier Lorenzen; and brother, Michael Hall Lorenzen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
