John Lacassin

Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial for John Edward Lacassin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. The Reverend Jason Vidrine will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Lacassin, age 76, who was a native and lifelong resident of Krotz Springs, LA, died on Friday, February 5, 2016.

John was a welder and pipefitter by trade. When not working, John loved to fish, hunt and tend to his flourishing vegetable garden. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Aileen Sharp Lacassin of Krotz Springs, LA; sons, Richard Van Lacassin and John Edward Lacassin, Jr, both of Denham Springs, LA; daughters, Sheila Barber and Pamela Templet, both of Krotz Springs, LA; brothers, Douglas, Gerard and Alfred "Al" Lacassin, all of Krotz Springs, LA and David "Magoo" Lacassin of St. Amant, LA; sisters, Mary Acklin Doucette of Vinton, LA, Margaret Credeur of Bridge City, TX and Audrey Halphen of Krotz Springs, LA; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elmire Angelle Lacassin; a son, Dewey Bryant Lacassin and his brothers, Grady, Glenn, Harold, and Louis Lacassin, Jr.

Visiting will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. Reverend Jason Vidrine will lead a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be James Lambert, Jeremy Lambert, Gerard Lacassin, R.J. Lacassin, Grady Lacassin and Glenn Lacassin.
