Jimmy Robin

A funeral service will be held for Jimmy J. Robin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1 2014, in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. The Reverend Perry Hubbs, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Opelousas will conduct the service. Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jimmy Robin, age 79, who was a native of Leonville and a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. Robin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Jimmy retired from the St. Landry Parish School Board after 27 years of service. He had a strong work ethic that he passed down to his children. There was always something to do around the house or in the yard. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Marjorie DAvy Robin of Opelousas sons, Johnny Robin and wife Marice of Opelousas, Keith Robin and wife Darlene of Opelousas daughter, Darlynn R. Zeiters and Neal Guidroz of Opelousas sisters, Shirley Moscovis of Opelousas and Mary Jane Miley of Baton Rouge grandchildren, Eric Robin, Chad Robin, Seth Robin, Celeste Zeiters, Zachary Robin, and Ashlynn Robin great grandchildren, AnnaLeigh Zeiters, Landon Robin and Kylee Robin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans and Angela Stelly Robin brother, Gerald Robin and a sister, Rose Darby.

Pallbearers will be Eric Robin, Chad Robin, Seth Robin, Zachary Robin, Logan Patin, and Neal Guidroz.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until service time.
