Jessie Moreau

Melville - Funeral services will be held for Jessie Lee Moreau, age 74, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Melville, LA. Reverend Buddy Webb will perform the funeral service. Burial will take place at the Melville Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Moreau, a resident of Melville, LA, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his residence.

Jessie served the Town of Melville as Chief of Police for 18 years. Prior to being the Chief, he worked as a police officer for Melville for four years. He truly loved serving the people of Melville. He also worked as a commercial fisherman, a lineman for Slemco Power Company and a tugboat captain. Jessie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Anthony Moreau of Melville, LA; Allen Moreau and wife, Erica, of Sunset, LA; his brothers, Herbert W. Moreau, Jr. of Prairieville, LA; his sister, Verda Lee of Krotz Springs, LA and his grandchildren, Ricky Allen Moreau of Sunset, LA; Noah Matthew of Sunset, LA; Patrick Rouse of Melville, LA and India Wiltz of Sunset, LA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Earline Moreau; his parents, Herbert W. and Margaret Moreau; his son, Ricky Allen Moreau; his brothers, Charles Moreau and Wayne Moreau; his sisters, Lena Naquin, Margaret Moreau Rodriguez and Elda Mae Jones.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. There will be a remembrance service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Moreau, Allen Moreau, Ricky Moreau, Noah Moreau, Tommy Rouse and Henry Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Rouse, Charles Lee, Jr., Brandon Lee, Fredrick Montgomery, II, Cleven Clark, Jarred Bartram and Gerald Williams.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Mr. Moreau's caregiver, Ronecia Mouton.
