Jessie Rose Joubert Clark

February 29, 1928 — August 16, 2023

Opelousas

Jessie Rose Joubert Clark, a beloved member of the Opelousas community, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 16, 2023. She was born on February 29, 1928, in Plaisance, Louisiana, to Jacques Nestor Joubert and Mary Etha Joubert Soileau.

Throughout her life, Jessie was known for her unwavering dedication and hard work. She spent many years working at the Clerk of Court's office, where she made valuable contributions to the community. In addition to her professional career, Jessie also generously volunteered at Opelousas General Health System as a Senior Companion. Her selflessness and willingness to help others were truly admirable.  Her faith was very important to her.  She was a parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters.

Never one to shy away from challenges, Jessie went back to school and earned her GED. This accomplishment opened new doors for her, and she pursued a career as a nurse's aide. Her determination and perseverance served as an inspiration to those around her.

Jessie will always be remembered for her vibrant personality. She was filled with boundless energy and radiated love for her family. Her fierce attitude of "never give up" motivated those who knew her.

Kindness defined Jessie's character. She had a heart of gold and would readily offer the shirt off her back if someone needed it. Despite facing hardships as a single parent raising her children, Jessie cherished her role.  She also loved to shower her children and grandchildren with little gifts of love and affection.

Her love for her family extended to cooking delicious meals for them. Every Sunday, she delighted in barbecuing for both family and friends. Her culinary skills brought joy and filled hearts with warmth.

In addition to caring for her loved ones, Jessie took immense pride in maintaining a clean house and a well-kept yard. Cutting her own grass was just one of the many ways she displayed independence and perseverance.

Jessie's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by her son, Charles Pepitone, of Church Point, Louisiana; her daughters, Rita Satterley of Opelousas, Louisiana, and Debra Chachere and husband Charles (Bobby) of Lafayette, Louisiana.  She is also survived by her sister, Gladys Fontenot of Ville Platte, Louisiana. Jessie's grandchildren, Tony Pepitone of Church Point, Louisiana, Victor (VJ) Gianfala IV and wife, Angelique, of Benton, Louisiana, Brooke Chachere and fiance’, Sport Voorhies, of Lafayette, Louisiana, Nicholas Chachere of Midland, Texas, Brittany McDonald and husband, Ryan, of Bradenton, Florida and Alexander Durcho and wife, Heather, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; along with her great-grandchildren - Kaylo Jo Gianfala, Aleck Gianfala, Alyssa Gianfala, Brayton Curry, Charley Voorhies, Camille Voorhies, Brody McDonald and Beau McDonald; her step-grandchildren, Stacy Satterley and Shelly Satterley; her step-great-grandchild, Harley Satterley and her step-great-great grandchild, Minix Cormier will forever cherish the memories they shared with their loving grandmother.

As she is laid to rest in eternal peace and joyous reunion with her loved ones who have passed before her. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, Jacques Nestor Joubert and Mary Etha Joubert Soileau.  She is also preceded in death by the father of her children, Tilman Joseph Clark and Raymond Pepitone; her two daughters, Cynthia Pepitone Durcho and JoAnn Pepitone Gianfala; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Pepitone; her son-in-law, Jimmy Satterley; her brothers, Clarence Joubert, Charles Joubert, James Joubert and Nolton Joubert; along with her sisters, Helen Guillory and Lou Anna Ledoux.
