Jeremy Bryce Wilson

April 9, 1978 — July 16, 2023

Jeremy Bryce Wilson, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2023, in Lafayette. He was born on April 9, 1978, in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Jeremy was a warm and affectionate person who had a special talent for giving the biggest and best hugs. His presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. He was known for his kind heart and genuine love for others.

One of Jeremy's greatest joys in life was spending time outdoors. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing and found solace in nature. Jeremy also had a strong affinity for LSU sports. Whether it was cheering on the Tigers or supporting his children at their various sporting events, such as Bryce's baseball games or Sydni's soccer and softball games, Jeremy always showed up with unwavering enthusiasm. He even attended Sydni's dance reviews to show his support. His dedication extended beyond his own children as he cheered on every child on the team, inspiring them with his infectious spirit.

For over 19 years, Jeremy was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Opelousas. His faith played a central role in his life, and he found great fulfillment in being part of this community. Jeremy shared his culinary talents by cooking for men's events at the church—an expression of love that brought joy to those around him.

In addition to his outdoor pursuits and involvement in church activities, Jeremy possessed a remarkable skill for woodworking—a talent he inherited from his grandfather, "Paw Boog." He cherished the knowledge passed down to him by "Paw Boog" and used it to create beautiful pieces that showcased his craftsmanship.

Jeremy is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Candice Rachal Wilson; parents, Gary and Denise Wilson; children, Bryce Robley Wilson and Sydni Claire Wilson; brother, Beau Wilson and wife, Laura; grandmother, Geraldine Wilson; mother-in-law, Ann Rachal; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robley Glenn Rachal; grandparents, H.L. "Booger" and Darnell Martin; grandfather, Willie Wilson; and uncles, Charles Cain and Drew Martin.

His loss leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his memory will forever be cherished. Jeremy's loving spirit, compassion, and zest for life will continue to inspire us.
