Jeanette Kennison Guillory

Jeanette Kennison Guillory, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023, at the Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, LA. Jeanette was born on December 31, 1933, in Opelousas, LA, to Pavie and Birdie Devillier Kennison.

Throughout her life, Jeanette found great joy in expressing her creativity through sewing and quilting. Her nimble fingers worked wonders as she crafted beautiful quilts that were treasured by her family. Her talent extended to creating baptismal clothes and heirloom baby dresses for her loved ones. Jeanette's creations served as a warm embrace for her family during both joyous and challenging times.

Jeanette was a dedicated wife to Avie Guillory until his passing. Their love story was one of unwavering support and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be held dear.

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Jeanette reveled in the role of being a grandmother. She found immense happiness in spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow into exceptional individuals. Jeanette is survived by her daughters Nola Morrow and Roni Lambert, accompanied by their loving husbands Jerry Morrow and Martin Lambert respectively.

Her cherished legacy lives on through each of her beloved grandchildren: Jami Fontenot and her husband Beau; Justin Morrow; Josh Artigue and his wife Anri; Kandie Savage; Jacob Kaiser and his wife Paula; Adam Stoute and his wife Dana.

Jeanette is also preceded in death by her parents, Pavie and Birdie Devillier Kennison and her brother, Floyd Kennison.

Jeanette's vibrant spirit will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile lit up every room she entered, spreading joy to those fortunate enough to bask in its radiance. She possessed an unwavering kindness that touched the hearts of those around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Those honored to be Jeanette's pallbearers are Jerry Morrow, Seth Fontenot, Jaxon Fontenot, Beau Fontenot, Justin Morrow and Jacob Kaiser.

The services honoring Jeanette's life will be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home located at 2845 S Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570. Visitation will commence on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 9:30 AM.  A Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 PM by Deacon Jerome Collins.  The funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Deacon Jerome Collins will conduct the funeral service.  Jeanette will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Park located at 4833 LA-182, Opelousas, LA 70570.
