It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Jean Harold Marks announce his passing on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the age of 73.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Jean was a member of the band “Back In Time” which included his son, Tracy Marks, his brother, Jimmy Marks, and close friends. They played old rock n’ roll and swamp pop music at several local clubs, festivals, and private gatherings. Jean and wife, Janice, enjoyed browsing and shopping for antiques. He was a successful business owner of wholesale car accessories for several years. Every evening he and his wife, Janice, celebrated “Happy Hour” at their home. Most of all, he was known for his colorful stories (using no filters) which made everyone laugh. Jean’s heart and soul was his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will not be forgotten and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jean is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice Terracina Marks of Opelousas, La. his son, Tracy Jean Marks, of Leonville, La.; his daughter, Stacy Marks Wimberley and husband, Mitch, of Church Point, La.; his brothers, James “Jimmy” Marks and wife, Debbie, of Opelousas, La., Timothy Marks and wife, Cindy, of Sunset, La.; his sister, Christine Marks Roy and husband, Charlie, of Lafayette, La. and his special aunt, Jane Marks. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Morgan and her fiancé, Bryce Lafleur, Zan and Elle Wimberley and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean Merrick and Lizzie Marks and his sister, Linda Marks Dreher.
