Jarrel Randolph Bryant, 81 years old, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was called to be with the Lord, on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 6, 1938 born to Pijeon and Jarrel Bryant in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for 49 years before moving to be closer to his children. He spent many of hours in his shop doing woodwork, making various items for friends and family. He owned a painting and handyman business and was always helping others with projects around their houses. Jarrel proudly served in the United States Army. He had a smile that could brighten any room and loved being around his family.
Jarrel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theresa Hinesley Bryant; sons, Randy Bryant and wife, Renee and Odie Bryant and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Johnathan Bryant and wife, Shanna, Jeremy Bryant and wife, Nicole, SheKhina Lewis and husband, Josh, Odie "Brodie" Bryant, SheRhonda Dupont and husband, Ben, Cherish Bryant, and Preston Bryant and wife, Sara; great-grandchildren, Hinesley, Maggie, Gracie, Julianna, Josiah, Layla, Canaan, Stella, Anna, Judah, Micah, Iva,Evalynn, Carson, Vivian, Tucker, Lee, Ezra, Mylene, and Reign; brother, Edgar Bryant; sister, Barbara Jean Morrison; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jarrel is preceded in death by his father, Jarrel Henry Bryant; mother, Pijeon Cheek Bryant; daughter, Laura Owens Manley; and 9 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Johnathan Bryant, Jeremy Bryant, Odie "Brodie" Bryant, Preston Bryant, Josh Lewis, and Ben Dupont.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at First Pentecostal Church of Melville, 112 Fontenot Street, Melville, LA on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue at First Pentecostal Church of Melville on Saturday, November 28, 2020, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Samuel Ham. The graveside service and burial with military honors will follow at First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge Cemetery, 1818 Hwy 360, Palmetto, LA.
