Opelousas A Funeral Service for Janet Fontenot Lamb, age 74, will be held at LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, followed by interment at Bellevue Memorial Park. Reverend James Brady will conduct the funeral service.

Janet who was born December 31, 1938 in Lewisburg and was a resident of Lafayette for the majority of her life, died on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Maison de Lafayette.

As a young woman Janet had a love for fashion, never leaving home without a coordinating hat for her chic and sometimes extravagant outfits. She worked in the field of cosmetology for many years, loved gardening, bird watching, and calling all of her loved ones poopsie. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nolton and Bessie Landry Fontenot.

Survivors include her daughter, Stacey McBride Reaux and husband Richard of Lafayette granddaughter, Hailey Reaux Fontenot and husband Joseph of Broussard greatgranddaughter, Cecilia Ann Fontenot of Broussard two brothers Marvin Fontenot and wife Karen of Slidell and James Fontenot of the Dominican Republic.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Fontenot, Richard Reaux, Joseph Fontenot, Edward R. Rusty Lamb, Michael Lamb, and Gervies Metrejean.

Visiting will be held in LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 3:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
