Jane Holden

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Jane Sebastien Holden, age 81, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Burial will be held at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Plaisance, LA. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the funeral service.

Mrs. Holden, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Opelousas General Health System.

Jane was avid reader all of her life. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and loved spending time in her garden. Jane was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Chris Babin of West Palm Beach, FL; Mark Holden and wife, Dianne, of Opelousas, LA; her daughters, Melissa Holden Smith of Opelousas, LA; Melanie Holden Doucet and husband, Chuck of Opelousas, LA; her brother, James "Butch" Sebastien and wife, Linda of Washington, LA; her grandchildren, Tyler Smith of Opelousas, LA, Blaine Smith of Lafayette, LA and Lori Benoit of Carencro, LA.

She is also survived by her niece, Camille Perry of Lafayette, LA and great-niece, C.C. Perry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Doristine Sebastien and her sisters, Novella Sebastien and Mary Lee Sebastien.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home will reopen on Friday, February 17, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Chris Babin, Mark Holden, Tyler Smith, Chuck Doucet, Mark Allen Smith and Blaine Smith.
