James Fontenot

Opelousas - Funeral services for Mr. James Yves Fontenot will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington with interment following at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. The Rev. Albert Nunez will conduct the services.
Mr. Fontenot, age 77, died at Opelousas General Health Systems on Thursday, January 31, 2008. He was a resident of Washington and longtime resident of Plaisance.

He is survived by his sons, Malcolm Fontenot and wife, Judy of New Iberia, Ronnie Fontenot and wife, Diana of Washington, daughters, Linda Walker and husband Jesse of Sulphur and Constance Soileau and husband, John of Washington. He is also survived by his brothers, Murry Fontenot of Opelousas, Leroy Fontenot of Westwego, Patrick Fontenot of Krotz Springs and a sister, Lou Ella Soileau of Opelousas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Catoire Fontenot, a son James Wayne Fontenot sisters, Wilda Roberie and Lorena Quebedeaux, a brother, Harold Fontenot and parents, Decroix Fontenot and Ella Joubert.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Walker, Seth Walker, Adam Walker, Josh Walker, Carey Fontenot, John Soileau, Keleb Soileau and Jacob Soileau.

The family has requested that visitation be observed at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 10:00AM to 10:00PM and will re-open on Saturday from 8:00AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
