James Vige, Sr.

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services for Mr. James A. Booby Vige, Sr. of Opelousas will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.

Mr. Vige, age 64, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at his residence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Knott Vige of Opelousas formerly of Sunset, three sons, James Jamie A. Vige, Jr. of Arnaudville, Justin J. Vige of Opelousas, Mark Latiolais of Atlanta, Georgia; and two daughters, Sheena Vige of Arnaudville and Crystal Tillman of Summerville, Georgia. He is also survived by three brothers, Warnell G. Vige and his wife, Sharon, of Baytown, Texas; Robert G. Bobby Vige of Huffman, Texas and Edward Vige of Opelousas, a sister, Virlena M. Jones of Montgomery, Texas and his aunt, Mrs. Seldon Theresa Durpe, of Opelousas. Mr. Vige is also survived by eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ena Pitre Vige and Virley Joseph Vige.

Visitation will be at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
