James C. Leblanc

On the 10^th day of May in the year of our Lord 2023 The Lord called home James “Clyde” LeBlanc. A Mass of Christian Burial for Clyde will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Father James Nguyen will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery in Melville.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday, May 14, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00pm in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville. The funeral home will re-open for visitation on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 8:00 am. The recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday at 11:45 a.m.

Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and they could do no wrong in his eyes. He enjoyed every moment he spent with them. On quiet days, you could find him reading or sitting on his swing. Clyde loved animals of all kinds, but especially cats and dogs. He enjoyed traveling to the Ozarks. His favorite dish was crawfish etouffee. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force for four years in Greece and Germany and then started his career as a heavy equipment operator from Local 406 out of Baton Rouge and remained for over 40 years.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Veronica D. LeBlanc; his son, David LeBlanc, his wife, Leslie, and their son, Colin; his daughters, April Richard, her husband, Phillip, and their daughter Bailey, Summer Breaux, her husband, Brent “Brother”, and their daughters, Anna and Jolie; his niece and nephew, Alexis and Nick, that he was honored to act as a father figure; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.      

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert R. LeBlanc, and Mary Enola Sicard.

Pallbearers will be Robert Reid Longmire, Jackie Felps, Jim Felps, James “Jimmy” Aguillard, Anthony “Shane” Dupont, and Kelly Aguillard.
