James Ellis

Krotz Springs Funeral services for James R. Ellis, age 65, will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA, followed by internment in the St. John Church Cemetery in Melville, La.

Father Chanh Nguyen will conduct the services with music provide by Gordy Reed and Mandy Myers. Graveside prayer will be provided by Chad Bolfa.

Mr. Ellis was a native of Krotz Springs, LA and died on October 17, 2011 in his home surrounded by all of his loved ones.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Verbal Ellis two sons, Michael Scott and wife, Sabrina Hooks Ellis, of Krotz Springs, La. and Brad Jason and wife, Lacy Kimble Ellis also of Krotz Springs, La. one daughter, Stephanie Ellis Speyrer and husband, Steve, of Leonville, LA one sister, Juanita Ellis Wiltz of Krotz Springs, La. grandchildren, Phillip, Lilly and Brock Ellis and Alexis and Noah Speyrer.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward Lawrence and Jeanne Ellis and two brotherinlaws, Dan Wiltz and Bobby Kimble.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs, beginning on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on 7:00 a.m. on Thursday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Ellis, Paul Wiltz, Danny Wiltz, Shane Wiltz, Derek Fontenot, Charles Fontenot, Blake Kimble and Ray Richard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Starnes, Anthony Cushman, Jessie Lee Ellis, Roland Sylvester, Herman Fontenot and J.H. Jarreau.
