Opelousas - Funeral services for James Ray Comeau, Jr., 69, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the services.
Mr. James was a native of Port Barre and a longtime resident of Opelousas. He died on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center ICU surrounded by his loving family. He was a USL alumni with a Bachelor of Science and fraternity member of Sigma Pi Sigma. He was a Chemical Analyst and worked in the Chromatography industry for over 30 years. He was an active participant in his church, the Christian Teaching Center in Lafayette. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eileen Redmond Comeau of Opelousas; four sons: Moses Ray Comeau and wife, Amy of Eunice; Alfred Joseph Comeau and wife, Elsie of Ponte Vedra, FL; Steven Chris Comeau and wife, Tara of Virginia Beach, VA; and David Patrick Comeau of Portland, OR; two daughters, Katie Comeau and wife, Amy Cobb of Greenwood, SC; and Abigail Marie Kiley Comeau and fiancé, Nicholas J. Clesi of Hammond; one brother, John Elder Smart and wife, Pat of Zachary; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ray Comeau, Sr. and Eddie Lee Mary Elder Comeau.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.
