James Fontenot

Funeral services for James Robert Fontenot will be held Monday January 12, 2009 at 11:00am in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington. Pallbearers will be Jude Brown, Phil Leblanc, Brent Leblanc, Gordon Leblanc, Gary Leblanc and Chris Leblanc. Gift bearers will be Alex Leblanc, Adam Leblanc, Emily Leblanc and Anna Leblanc. The interment to take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Fr. Albert Nunez will conduct the services.

Mr. Fontenot, age 56 a resident of Baton Rouge died Friday January 9, 2009 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Fontenot was Director of Finance with the State of Louisiana. He was a loving devoted husband, father and was very close to his many nieces and nephews. His calm and easy manner endeared him to many. Anyone that knew him knew that he was an avid LSU Sports Fan.

Survivors include his wife; Elaine Leblanc Fontenot of Baton Rouge, mother; Rose Quinn of Baton Rouge, son; James Robert Fontenot, II, 2 brother in laws; John Leblanc and wife Lorraine of Garland and Charles Leblanc and wife Agnes of Garland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father; Nelson J. Fontenot and a brother Mark Fontenot.

Visitation will be Sunday from 9:00am until 10:00pm and will reopen Monday at 8:00am. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30pm.
