Funeral services for Jacqueline Ann Dominique Richard will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas with interment in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.
Mrs. Richard, age 80, died at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Opelousas General Health System.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Altar Society and retired as a secretary from the St. Landry Parish School Board System.
Mrs. Richard is survived by her sons, Chuck Richard and wife, Lise, of Eunice; Ronnie Richard and wife, Janet, of Opelousas; Al Richard and wife, Deidre, of Baytown, Texas and Steve Richard and Cynthia Butler of Baton Rouge; her sister, Mrs. Harold Bessie Prejean of Lafayette; her sisters-in-law, Versie Richard and Yola Mae Sis Richard both of Opelousas; her eight grandchildren, Brian Richard and wife, Robyn of Baton Rouge; Rachel R. Martel and husband, Ryan of Eunice; Rebecca R. Dupre and husband, Gabe of Eunice; Brad Richard of Eunice; Renee Richard of Opelousas; Jonathan Richard of West Palm Beach, Florida; Ryan Richard and Ross Richard both of Opelousas. She is also survived by her ten great-grandchildren, Rylie Jo and Britton Richard of Baton Rouge; Caroline, Tyler, Gracie and Emma-Claire Martel of Eunice; Jack and Blaire Dupre of Eunice and Wesley and Avery Wyble of Opelousas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 50 years, Charles A. Richard, Sr.; her parents, Henry and Edmonia Dominique; one brother, Henry Dominique, Jr. and three sisters, Rose Anna Dominique, Anita Mae Dominique and Mary Hermina Melancon.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will re-open on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Brian Richard, Jonathan Richard, Ryan Richard, Ross Richard, Brad Richard and Ryan Martel.
The Gift Bearers will be Wesley Wyble, Caroline Martel and Tyler Martel. The readers will be Cheryl Schlomer and Lise Richard.
