Jacqueline "Jackie" Lafleur

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie Caillouet LaFleur, age 86, at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde, La. Father Mark Ledoux will officiate the services. Rite of Committal and Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.

Granny passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, surrounded by the beautiful family she created and devoted her life to. Jackie was a native and lifelong resident of Prairie Ronde.

She spent much of her early years supporting her husband, known as “The Hay Man”, in the fields during the day, and graciously tending to her family in the evening. Jackie was a truly dedicated wife and mother. She was married to James Harry LaFleur for 53 years, at the passing of his death in March of 2011. Together they built a beautiful life, having 7 children: Fredrick LaFleur, and his wife Connie of Opelousas, Stephen LaFleur and his wife Fran of Prairie Ronde, Lori LaFleur Bratton and her husband Michael of Ponchatoula, Angela LaFleur Fortier, and her husband Francis of Prairie Ronde, Marla LaFleur Pitre (deceased) and husband, Chad, from Washington, Jimmy LaFleur and his wife, Karen of Prairie Ronde, Joey LaFleur and his wife Cindy Ledoux LaFleur of Prairie Ronde. She had 20 grandchildren: Matthew, Morgan, McKenzie LaFleur, Mallie, Blaine, Tyler LaFleur, Kyle, Seth, Russ Bratton, Cody, Evan, Lindy Fortier, Brooke, Dustin, Anna, Joshua LaFleur, Ellie, Grace, Aiden, Amelie LaFleur and 24 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way.

Granny completed God’s handiwork by being the ultimate nurturer, fulfilling her role as a housewife, mother, and grandmother to the fullest. With God first in her life and her family second, there was never a question of her priorities throughout her life. She was known and will be remembered most for her love and devotion, homestyle cooking, and possibly her volunteered insights or opinions. She enjoyed taking trips with family and friends and spending her time with her beloved family every chance she had, even up to the last moments of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Caillouet, siblings Don Caillouet, Bubsy Caillouet, Gayle Caillouet, Marlene Caillouet, and daughter, Marla LaFleur Pitre.

The family requests visiting hours be held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

The Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lafleur, Josh Lafleur, Freddie Lafleur, Joey Lafleur, Steve Lafleur, Evan Fortier and Cody Fortier.
