Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jackie Mills will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church followed by interment in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen and Father Joseph Overton Breaux will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Mills, age 73, a resident of Opelousas, LA died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Opelousas General Health System.

Jackie and her husband, Mickey, were married for 53 years. She retired from St. Landry Bank after working there for 30 years as Vice President and Head Bookkeeper. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Mickey Mills, of Bellevue, LA her sons, Mike Mills and wife, Paula, of Bellevue, LA Bill Mills and wife, Andrea, of Lafayette, LA Timmy Mills of Port Barre, LA her daughters, Thea Mills Hollie of Bellevue, LA Beth Marks and husband, Keith, of Opelousas, LA Yvette Meche and husband, Glenn, of Scott, LA Melanie Bellard and husband, Ted, of Opelousas, LA her brothers, Kenny Fontenot and wife, Judy, of Opelousas, LA David Fontenot and wife, Kerry, of Opelousas, LA and her sisters, Sandy Savoy, Betty Jo and husband, Larry Johnson and Carmen Demay all of Opelousas, LA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Marius Fontenot and her inlaws, Theo and Lena Mills and her brother, Chuck Fontenot.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jonathan Mills, Brett Mills, Beau Hollie, Dylan Hollie, William Mills, Matthew Mills and Seth Brinkman. Readers will be her granddaughters, Amanda Mills and Jacqueline Mills. The offertory gifts will be brought by her granddaughters, Jessica Marks, Micki Hollie, Jade Bellard and Abby Brinkman.
