Ivel Thibodeaux

Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Ivel V. Thibodeaux at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. Reverend Ted Broussard will conduct the service. Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Prairie Ronde, LA.

Mrs. Thibodeaux, age 94, a resident of Lafayette, LA and a former resident of Prairie Ronde, LA until 1960, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette, LA.

Ivel was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and embroidery work. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ivel will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Clarence C.J. Thibodeaux and wife, Patty, of Lafayette, LA her daughter, Linda Watters of Broussard, LA and her sonsinlaw, Donald Dupre of Opelousas, LA and Horace Leger of Duson, LA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren and 10 greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Jeneuse Thibodeaux her parents, Paul and Onezia Bertrand Vige her son, Talvin Thibodeaux her daughters, Eula Dupre, Norma Leger, Beverly Thibodeaux and her foster brother, Vorice Goy Fontenot.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
