Irving Brocato

Melville - Funeral services will be held for Irving "Merse" Brocato at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in the First Baptist Church in Melville. Brother Merrick Henry will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be held at the Methodist Cemetery in Melville, LA.

Mr. Brocato, age 66, a resident of Port Barre, LA, died on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at his residence.

Merse was a retired ironworker and a member of the Local 623 Ironworkers. He loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Merse will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Anthony "Troy" Brocato and wife, Cherie, of New Orleans, LA; his daughters, Ida Elizabeth Brocato-Hancock and husband, Steve, of Port Barre, LA; Ashley Perry Roberts and husband, Shane, of Livingston, LA; his brother, Anthony "Butch" Brocato and wife, Carol, of Graham, WA; his sisters, Irveene Clark of Nederland, TX; Julia Goudeau and husband, Derrell, of Morrow, LA and Suzanne Miles and husband, Douglas, of Prairieville, LA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler Montero Hancock, Anthony Frank Brocato, Ava Elizabeth Hancock, Jake Covell, Charlie Roberts, Genevieve Roberts and Mia Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Perry Brocato; his parents, Irving and Lena Ancona Brocato and his sister, Marilyn Rose Brocato.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville on Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
