Irma Elston

Port Barre. Funeral services for Mrs. Irma L. Elston, over 21, will be held Saturday at 9 AM Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Elston died at 7:05 A.M. June 13, 2007 at home. She was president of Port High School Band Parents Club for many years; who help start and realize new uniforms for the band by 1973. A co-chairperson for the bicentineal celebrations in Port Barre which she design the Birth Place of Bayou Tech motif and designed many Aggie Mom quilt squares. All for selfless hours of imagination and craftiness she gave freely will miss her. Plus the blue lights at Christmas.

Survivors includes her husband Darrell Nubbin Elston of Port Barre, La; daughter Lisa Lee Elston Rangelov and her husband Dimitar Rangelov of Macomb, MI; son Shawn D Elston and his wife Tina LeJeune Elston of Duson, LA; three brothers Turner Smith, Vernon Smith and Jack Williams of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Sydney Elston and Pam Lacomb of Port Barre, La.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 PM to 9PM and Saturday 8 AM until time services at the funeral home. Then burial at the cemetery.

Preceding Mrs. Elston was her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Theodore R. Smith and grandparents Mr. And Mrs. John A. Smith of Kenedy, Texas.
