IRENE OLIVIER LAFLEUR

Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Olivier Lafleur, will be held Friday, February 16th, 2007 at 10:00AM at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in Lawtell. The Interment will be at the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Danial Picard will conduct the services.

Mrs. Lafleur, age 92, died Sunday, March 11 at 7:45PM at Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

Ms. Irene who was a native and resident of Lawtell, owned an operated a General Merchandise store with her husband Abram Lafleur, for over 60 years. She sold candy to every school child in Lawtell. She was a member of many organizations, namely AARP, Life Champions, Lawtell Home Makers, Elks Auxilliary and Les Amis Acadienne.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Gary Blanchard, nurses and staff of St. Landry Hospice and especially the nurses and staff of Prompt Succor Nursing Home for their love, kindness and dedication to Ms. Irene.

She is survived by a son; Dr. Kenneth and his wife Patricia M. Lafleur of Opelousas,

A daughter; Melba L. Wyble and her husband Dr. Merrick Wyble of Opelousas, a brother; Jules U. Olivier of Lawtell. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Dr. Eric Wyble and his wife Jeanne of Pass Christian, MS., Dr. Stephen Wyble and his wife Melanie of Opelousas, Gretchen Wyble of New Orleans and Dr. Christine Wyble- Cornish and her husband Robert of Jersey City, New Jersey, Jeff Wyble of Jackson, MS also Matt Lafleur and his wife Monique of Madison MS, Suzanne Klok and husband Rhett of Charleston S.C. and Caroline Lafleur Rodgers and her husband Logan of San Diego CA. and 5 Great-grandchildren; Christopher and Allison Wyble, Gabrielle and Ted Klok and Nicolas C. Lafleur

Ms. Irene was preceded in death by her husband; Abram Lafleur and her parents; Ulysses and Cora Joubert Olivier.

The family has requested that visitation be observed on Thursday, March 15,2007 at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home on Sunset Highway in Opelousas, from 11:00AM to 9:00PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00AM until time of service. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00PM.

Pallbearers will be; Dr. Eric Wyble, Dr. Steve Wyble, Jeff Wyble, Robert Cornish, Matt Lafleur and Logan Rodgers.
