Irene Dupre

Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Dupre, age 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA. The Reverend James Brady will conduct the funeral service.
Mrs. Dupre, a resident of Washington, died peacefully after a long illness, on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
Mrs. Dupre was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Dupre and wife, Faye, of Opelousas two daughters, Pat Dupre Granger and husband, Terry, of Corsicana, Texas and Connie Dupre Rutland and husband, James Pepper, of Baton Rouge, La. her brother, Erin Devillier and his wife, Joy, of Sulphur, La. her sisters, Wanda Prudhomme and husband, Jim of Ville Platte, La. Rowena Bordelon of Washington, La. Betty Soileau and husband, Louis of Ville Platte, La. Pearl Johnson and husband, Lee of Ville Platte, La. and Eloise Blondie Fontenot of Sulphur, La. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derrick, Jordan, and Harley Fontenot, Gus Dupre, Windy Dupre, Dana Gore and husband Elmo, Cady Sunsdahl and husband Captain Jared Sunsdahl, Kennan Bruser, Jeffrey and Michael Rutland, Lori Granger and John Hanchey and her greatgrandchildren, Arlee and Avery Gore, Madison, Maegan, and Rebekah Sunsdahl, Jacob, Anna Ligh, and Adeline Bruser.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gussie Dupre, Jr. her parents, Louis Fontenot and Constance Devillier Fontenot her daughter, Toni Kim Dupre Fontenot and her sister, Gloria Tubre.
Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will reopen at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday until time of service at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
