Ida Guillory

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Ida Morain Guillory, age 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on, Thursday, April 28, 2011 in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Port Barre, La. The Reverend James Brady will be the celebrant of the Mass.

Mrs. Guillory, who was a former resident of Palmetto, and resident of Geismar, La., died at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011, at Gonzales Health Care.

Ida was a member of the St. Louis King of France Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, La. and the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, La.

Survivors include her son, Virgil J. Guillory and wife, Monica, of Central, La. her daughter, Shirley Guillory Stelly and husband, Howard, Sr., of Geismar, La. six sisters, Ada Marcantel of Central, La. Mable Angelle of Lakeland, La. Wilda Chassion of Central, La. Louise Guidry of Krotz Springs, La. Eva Hebert of Central, La. and Zoula Fruge of Central, La. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren 12 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreat grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Reme Guillory her parents, Nicodemus and Linda Lanclos Morain her sister, Gladys Samson and her brothers, Dennis Morain and Jesse Morain.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and will reopen on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
