Horace Mcbride

Lawtell, La. A Mass of Christian Burial, for Horace J. McBride, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2011, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. followed by interment in Verrette Cemetery in Swords, La. The Reverend Austin Leger will conduct the Mass.

Mr. McBride, age 62, a resident of Sunset, La., died on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia B. McBride of Sunset, La. his daughter, Angelle McBride Meaux and husband, Adam, of Church Point, La. his brothers, John Terry McBride, Raymond McBride, Jimmie McBride and his sisters, Linda McBride, Betty Walker and Mildred Stelly. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Madison Meaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Emma Courville McBride his brother, Alvin Joseph McBride, Jr. and his sister, Elta Smith.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
