Horace Darbonne

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Horace Darbonne at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, LA. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be the Celebrant of the Mass.

Mr. Darbonne, age 87, a resident of Prairieville, LA, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at his residence.

Horace will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife, Earline Godeaux Darbonne, of Prairieville, LA his daughter, Jeanette Lavergne and husband, Wilbert, of Prairieville, LA his brother, Lawrence Darbonne of Opelousas, LA and 2 grandchildren, Wayne Lavergne and wife, Theresia, of Prairieville, LA Wilbert Lavergne, Jr. of Prairieville, LA and 2 greatgrandchildren, Jamie Lavergne and Ty Lavergne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Aledia Darbonne three brothers and one sister.

Visiting hours will begin on Friday, September 27, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
