Herbert Breaux

Krotz Springs - Funeral services for Herbert John Breaux will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs. Reverend Michael DeBlanc will officiate the service.  Burial will take place in Opelousas, La. at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs.

Mr. Breaux, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Herbert served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was the president of Fort Flowers Hunting Club for over 30 years and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.  His true passion was hunting and fishing.

Herbert was the Domino king.  Every Friday night, dominos was the center of entertainment.  His loved gardening and cooking for his family.

Herbert was a butcher for over 30 years having worked United Packers and H & M Provisions where he retired.

After moving to Krotz Springs, following the death of his wife, Herbert embraced the activities offered through the Town of Krotz Springs such has monthly birthday parties, senior trips and the Veteran's Coffee and Talk.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Rickey Breaux; his daughters, Diane Butler and husband, Craig, Sharon Artigue and husband, Keith "Poncho"; his brother, Nolan Breaux and wife, Patiricia and his sisters, Merlene Guillory and Audrey Fontenot.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeffery Dixon, Tiffany Dixon King (Jerome), Mandi Fontenot, Nicole Moore (Cory), Crystal Artigue, Patrick Artigue and Daniel Artigue (Jade), twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.  Herbert's family would like to recognize his special extended family, Brandon, Frankie, Braelyn, Vance and Peyton Viator who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in wife of 51 years, Ann Meche Breaux; his parents, Ralph and Emma Kidder Breaux and his brother, Joseph Roy Breaux.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregiviers of Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care for the support and care that was given to Mr. Breaux.
