Krotz Springs-Funeral services for Mr. Henry Lee Ellis, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will conduct the services. Interment will follow at the Ellis Family Farm Cemetery in Krotz Springs.

Mr. Ellis was a native and a lifelong resident of Krotz Springs. He passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 82. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed camping and fishing, playing his harmonica, reading western books and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Ellis was considered a jack of all trades and a master of all. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Dolores Morales Ellis of Krotz Springs; children, James Ellis, Sr. and wife, Julia of Krotz Springs; Paul Ellis and wife, Brinda of Baker; Billy Ellis and wife, Debra of Krotz Springs; Charles Ellis of Krotz Springs, Nolan Ellis and wife, Teri of Erwinville; Glenn Ellis and wife, Susan of Gonzales; Leroy Ellis of Melville; John Ellis and wife, Jodi of Melville, Brenda Johnson of Melville; Wanda Lanclos and husband, Randy of Port Barre; Norma Broussard and husband, Jeffery of Melville; Jeanette Dupree and husband, Craig of Erwinville; Charles Woodard, Jr. and wife, Katherine of Erwinville; John Woodard and wife, Stephanie of Atlanta, GA; and Paul Woodard, Sr. and wife, Carol of Erwinville; brothers, Jessie Ellis and wife, Melinda of Krotz Springs; and Joel Ellis and wife, Jean of Krotz Springs; sisters, Vitula Dupree of Krotz Springs; and Gloria Bihm and husband, Jimmy of Krotz Springs; 50 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda Downs; mother, Lorine Stermer Ellis; father, Henry Lee Ellis, Sr.; first wife, Bennie Adair Ellis; brothers, J. B. Ellis, J. W. Ellis, and Frank Ellis; and 5 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Ellis, Randy Lanclos, Jr., Joshua Ellis, Eddie Broussard, William Ellis, James Ellis, Dustin Ellis, Brandon Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Ellis and Dale Ellis.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
