Funeral services for Henry Hank DeMay will be held on Wednesday August 22, 2007 at 1:00pm in the St. Landry Catholic Church. The interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park. Fr. Paul Metrejean will conduct the services.
Mr. DeMay, age 75, died at his residence in Opelousas, Monday, August 20, 2007. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Lions Club. He was Superintendent of St. Landry Parish Schools from 1985 to about 1987. Mr. DeMay was a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife; Carmen Fontenot DeMay of Opelousas, his sons; Robert DeMay of Lafayette, Richard DeMay of New Iberia and a stepson; Thad Pitre of Slidell, a daughter; Therese DeMay Gianfala of Plateo MO., his brothers; Peter DeMay of Gladstone, Michigan and Joseph De-May of Palmetto, FL, and sisters; Teresa Swift of Gladstone, MI, Louise Kenyon of Lansing, Michigan and Felicia Berman of Boston, Massachusetts. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Mr. DeMay was preceded in death by a brother; John F. DeMay and his parents; Felix DeMay and Mary DeHoughee DeMay.
The family has requested that visitation will be observed on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00pm.
The pallbearers will be; Howard Niel Hargroder, Duane Bergereaux, Bobby Savoy, Mickey Mills, Larry Johnson and Joe DeMay. Honorary pallbearers; Clifton T. Clause Jr. and Andre Miller.
