Helen Jane Bergeron

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Helen Jane Soileau Bergeron at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Rite of Committal will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park.  Reverend Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home by Father Clint Trahan.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Jane Soileau Bergeron, age 82. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Opelousas General Hospital.

Ms. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her genealogy research was her true passion and spent countless hours researching and cross referencing.  She was a very artistic and creative person and loved creating all kinds of ceramics.  Ms. Jane will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her.

She is survived by son, Barry A. Bergeron; her daughter, Desiree Kennison and husband, Kearns; three grandchildren, Miranda Vega, Sharee McPherson, Amber Fisher and three great-grandchildren, Renee Vega, Owen Fisher and Pierce Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lannie E. Bergeron; her mother, Eula Mae Foret Soileau; her father, Linzy Soileau and her step-mother, Ludie Prejean Soileau.

Pallbearers will be Barry Bergeron, Kearns Kennison, Rob McPhearson, Dale Miller, Todd Womack and Sammy Coon.
