Healy Chautin

Service for Healy Chautin, age 92, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on, Monday June 13, 2011 in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will conduct the service.

Healy, who was a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Magnolia Nursing Home in Lafayette, La.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Gunner in the European Theatre. He was in the following campaigns, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Also, he retired from the City of Opelousas as a sign painter.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Thibodeaux Chautin of Opelousas, La. his son, Roger Chautin and wife, Sheila, of Lafayette, La. his daughter, Mrs. Errol Paula Trahan of Lafayette, La. 4 grandchildren, Michael Guidroz and wife, Tina Mark Guidroz, Erik Chautin, Britni Chautin, 2 step grandchildren, Emily Woods and husband Peter and Chris Trahan and 2 greatgrandchildren, Bailey Chautin, Jemma Guidroz, 3 step great grandchildren, Ethan Woods, Allie Woods and Kate Woods.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andre and Ida Moreau Chautin, his brothers, Alexander, Clebert, Edward, Leonce, Andrew and Gilbert Chautin his sisters, Ida Myers, Emma Bodin, Linda Guidroz, Virginia Chautin and Rena Duplechain.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday at 8:00a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00p.m. on Sunday.
