Hazel Savoy

The family of Hazel Guillory Savoy requests that visiting and funeral services be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery in Opelousas, LA. The Reverend Gregory Gaspard will conduct the religious services.

Hazel G. Savoy, age 86, who was born in Port Barre, LA and was a longtime resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA.

Ms. Savoy was a nursing graduate of Louisiana State University.
She worked many years for Opelousas General Health System and Dr. George Prather.
In her free time she enjoyed gardening and reading. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Survivors include her sons, Jean Savoy and his wife Pam of Lafayette, LA, and Ken Savoy and his former wife Lanette F. Savoy of Metairie, LA a brother, James Guillory of Lawtell, LA and a granddaughter, Samantha B. Savoy of Metairie, LA.

She is preceded in death by her son, James Leighton Savoy her parents, Athenas and Louise Tweedel Guillory her brothers, Delman Guillory, Fred Guillory, Roderick Guillory, Howard Guillory, and Bill Guillory a sister, Bella Guillory Soileau and her former husband, J.T. Savoy.
