Hazel Reed

Funeral services for Hazel M. Reed will be held Monday February 25, 2008 at 2:30pm in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas with Monsignor Robert Romero officiating the services. The interment to take place at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mrs. Reed, age 85 died Friday at 11:00pm in the Prompt Succor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was closely involved in their lives.

She is survived by her son; Dwight D. Reed and wife Connie of Opelousas, daughters; Judy Reed Larriviere and husband Richard of Lafayette, Beverly Reed Simms and husband Arthur of Houston, sister; Lou Charles of Lake Charles, brother; James Blanc Marcantel of Lake Charles, grandchildren; Logan Simms and wife Lisa, Ryan Simms and wife Heather, David Michael Reed and wife Brandi and Stephanie Larriviere great grandchild; Kendall Simms. Preceded in death by her husband; Ebon Joseph Reed, parents; Edville Marcantel and Merent Soileau Marcantel, brothers; Joseph V. Marcantel, James E. Marcantel and Clany Bab Marcantel sisters; Clamy Fontenot and Lelma Stoker.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and on Monday from 12noon until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00pm.
