Hazel Ortego

Opelousas - Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Ortego will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington with the interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Father Albert Nunez will conduct the services.

Mrs. Ortego, age 88, a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Ortegos hobbies included sewing and gardening. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Mrs. Ortego is survived by her daughter, Romona Ortego Geremonte and husband, Tony Geremonte of Lindale, Texas, brothers, Raymond Devillier of Houston, Texas, Julien Devillier, Jr. of Opelousas and her sister, Effie Saucier of Opelousas. She is survived by three grandchildren, Bobby Milner of California, Angie Graham, wife of Roger Graham, of Tyler, Texas and Lorrie Madsen, wife of Bobby Madsen, of Winnsboro, Texas and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joachin Ortego, her parents, Julien and Martha Charles Devillier, brothers, Olide Devillier, Oliday Devillier, Sherman Devillier, Leroy Devillier, sisters, Elizabeth Andrus and Annie Lalonde.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
