Hazel Bullara

A funeral service will be held for Hazel Courville Bullara, age 89, on Sunday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bullara, who was a native of Beggs and a resident of Opelousas, died at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook who will especially be remembered for her spaghetti sauces and lasagnas. She will also be remembered as being a wonderful seamstress. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Bullara and wife Patsy, Vincent Bullara and wife Mary Beth, Tommy Bullara and wife Anita, Dean Bullara and wife Lea Ann five daughters, Vernita Ducharme and husband Jerry, Rebecca Bullara, Stella Lirette and husband Kirk, Donna Dupre and husband Phil, Lisa Whipp and husband Troy a brother, Ferdie Courville and wife Lucy 21 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Verly Richard second husband, James Bullara parents, Aluce and Honora Semar Courville a son, Michael Wayne Bullara a brother, Jesse Courville and sisters Marcel Courville and Janet Young.

Pallbearers will be Michael Allen, Chad, Jimmy, Tommy, Vincent, and Dean Bullara. Honorary pallbearers will be Vinnie and Eric Bullara.

The family requests visiting in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 5:30 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
