Hartwell Ventre

Opelousas - A Memorial Service will be held for Hartwell Clement Ventre at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the memorial service.

Mr. Ventre, age 58, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

Hartwell loved music and was a great cook. Besides being a mechanic, Hartwell was an all-around handyman usually repairing things for his family and friends. He will always be affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Papa Hart" and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Hartwell is survived by his fiance', Rhonda Godeaux of Opelousas, LA; his son, Corey Andre' Ventre of Metairie, LA; his daughter, Michelle Ruth Vasseur and husband, Quentin, of Port Barre, LA and his brother, Charles Ventre, Jr. and wife, Denise, of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Zackery Vasseur, Noah Vasseur and Liam Vasseur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. Ventre, Sr. and Ollie Ruth "Tumpy" H. Ventre; and his wife, Carla Matt Ventre.
