Funeral services for Harry Lee Deville will be held on Wednesday 10:00AM at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Myrtle Grove Cemetery. Msgr. Robert Romero will conduct the services.
Mr. Deville, 78, died Monday, December 11th at 12:30AM at Maison Deville Nursing Home. He had joined the Merchant Marines at age 16. While in the Merchant Marines he traveled worldwide and was in the Korean Conflict serving as a gunner in the U.S. Army. He also worked for Chevron Oil where he retired as an oiler.
He is survived by his step-father; Pierre Martin of Opelousas, brothers; Joseph Junior Deville and his wife Mary of Opelousas and John Talley Deville of Port Barre, sisters; Rose Burleigh and her husband Charles of Sunset, Ella Mae Hymel and her husband Paul of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Dosley Deville and Amelie Guillory Martin and his wife; Helen Young Deville.
The family has requested that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 4:00PM to 10:00PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00AM till time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM on Tuesday.
