Harris Ray

Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Harris Ray at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Rite of Committal will follow at the church cemetery. Reverend Jason Vidrine will celebrate the Mass.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until the Rosary Service at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Ray, age, 72, a native of Krotz Springs, LA and resident of Denham Springs, LA, died on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs.

Harris served his country proudly in the United States Airforce. He was a carpenter and worked offshore as a tool pusher. He loved to build, which included his own homes. Harris loved to joke and make people laugh. Visiting with family and friends was his joy. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his companion and caretaker, Mary Ethel Ringo, of Denham Springs, LA; his son, Harris Ray, Jr. and wife, Connie, of Torbert, LA; his daughter, Melissa Perkins and husband, Jeffery, of Denham Springs, LA; his sitter, who was a like a daughter to him, Lynell Jones; his brothers, Richard Ray and wife, Shirley, of Krotz Springs, LA; Joe Ray of Baton Rouge, LA and his sister, Shirley Dupont and husband, Gerald, of Krotz Springs, LA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey David Ray; his parents, Raymond Joseph Ray and Anna Marie Fontenot Ray and his sister-in-law, Margaret Ray.
