Harold Carrier

Opelousas - A funeral service will be held for Harold Jean "Totsy" Carrier, age 77, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016, in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Reverend James Brady will conduct the service. Burial will be held at the Bellevue Memorial Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Carrier, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on, Wednesday December 28, 2016 at his residence.
We had to say our good byes to the best husband, Dad, father-in-law, and Grandad around. He lost his battle surrounded by his family. Now he will finally be CANCER and pain free.
"Totsy" was deeply involved in the Insurance Business for nearly 35 years. That insurance company is presently known as Dupre-Carrier Godchaux. He was also part of the Board of Directors for the St. Landry Homestead since 1978. Above all he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and many more loving family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Shirley "Powers" Carrier of Opelousas, LA; his daughter, Monette Carrier Clay and husband, Kent Clay of Opelousas, LA; his son, Kevin Carrier and wife Stacey Faul Carrier of Opelousas, LA; his grandchildren, Catherine Paige Clay and companion, Hunter, Drake Edward Carrier, Cole Davis Carrier, and Amelia Rae Carrier; his great grandchild, Ainsley Grace; his brother, Clarence Carrier Jr., and wife, Gladys Carrier of Port Barre, LA; his brothers-in-law, Ronald E. "Pajoe" Powers and Edmond Pavy, both of Opelousas, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Carrier, Sr.; his mother, Amelia Soileau Carrier; and his sister-in-law, Bonnie Powers Pavy.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Carrier, Drake Carrier, Cole Carrier, Kent Clay, Barry Carrier, Pajoe Powers.
The family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital be made in Harold's name.
