Harold Aucoin, Sr.

Opelousas - Funeral Services for Mr. Harold Patrick Aucoin, Sr., age 72, will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the services.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.  Readers will be Dot Broussard, Juanita Aymond and Kelsey Bernard.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  A Rosary Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mr. Aucoin was a native of Prairie Ronde and was a current resident of Ville Platte, La.  He passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Harold was a faithful Catholic.  He enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time with his grandchildren, and collecting Sponge Bob items.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Harold Patrick Aucoin, Jr. of Pine Prairie, La., Joey Aucoin of Pine Prairie, La.; his daughters, Stephanie Bolfa and husband, Michael of Ville Platte, La. and Shelly Aucoin Bernard of Opelousas, La.; his sisters, Betty McClansey of Texas, Juanita Aymond of Port Barre, La., Patsy Hebert of Eunice, La. and two step-sisters, Belinda of Mamou, La. and Monica of Texas.  He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Aucoin and Amy Castille Aucoin; his grandparents who raised him, John Castille and Gertie Ortego Castille; his daughter, Terri Aucoin; his brothers, Ronald Aucoin, Charles Aucoin and Rogers (Red) Aucoin; his grandsons, Kristopher Aucoin and Alexander Thibodeaux; and his former wife and mother of his children, Rose Guidroz.

Pallbearers will be Chaise Bolfa, Baily Aucoin, Joey Aucoin, Stephen Madrigal, Dustin Ellis and Terry Aucoin.
