Opelousas - It is with deep sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Hal “Nap” Napoleon Franchebois on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the age of 64.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Hal “Nap” Napoleon Franchebois, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.
Hal was a 1977 graduate of Opelousas Catholic School. He will be remembered mostly for being a kind and gentle soul who helped anyone in need. He loved taking trips to the beach with his family. He also enjoyed watching horse racing at the local tracks. Hal’s favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Hal will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Hal will forever be remembered and missed by his wife of almost 35 years, Julie Latiolais Franchebois; his son, Seth Franchebois and wife, Kayla and his sisters, Lark Daigle, Camille Pellerin and husband, David and his sister-in-law, Candy Franchebois. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cohen Eric, Luke Bennett, and Zachary Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Ferdie Lavergne Franchebois and Waldene Mallett Franchebois; his brothers, Mark Thomas Franchebois, Dirck Douglas Franchebois and his nephew, Eric Pellerin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins. Visitation will continue Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.
Pallbearers will be Seth Franchebois, Kevin Fontenot, Jake Latiolais, Trey Soileau, Haays Latiolais, Kye Latiolais, Scott Pellerin and Adam Briley. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Cohen Eric, Luke Bennett, and Zachary Cole.
