Gus Legros, Sr.

Krotz Springs - A funeral service will be held for Gus Roy LeGros, Sr. at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Reverend Jason Vidrine will conduct the services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. LeGros, age 81, a resident of Melville, LA, died on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving and caring family.

Mr. LeGros served his country proudly in the United States National Guard. Gus enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking. What he loved the most was gardening, especially planting potatoes. Gus was a welder with Valero and the local 1098. Mr. Gus will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his second wife of 16 years, Amy Lou Henson LeGros of Melville; his brother, Reggie LeGros and wife, Diana of Grand Coteau, LA; his sons, Gus "Buddy" LeGros, Jr. and wife, Betty of Moss Bluff, LA, Willis LeGros and fiance, Emily Meredith of Panama, FL; his daughters, Bernadine LeGros Wiltz and husband, Arnold of Krotz Springs, LA, Carolyn LeGros Conway and husband, Rickie of Krotz Springs. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulice LeGros and Amazette Marie Dupuis; his wife and mother of his children, Betty Lou Ray LeGros; his brothers and sister-in-laws, Leon Legros and wife, Viola, Hebert and wife, Melba, Ernest "Jughead" LeGros; his daughter-in-law, Joan LeGros and his granddaughter, Kayla Marie LeGros.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Conway, Chris LeGros, Josh LeGros, Willis "Junior" LeGros, Nick Trussell, Tommy Trussell. Honorary pallbearer will be Gus MatthewLeGros Conway.

Visitation will be held in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Monday, November 21, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Reverend Jason Vidrine at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
