Gloria "T-Glo" Joubert Bourque

Opelousas – Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel in Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins with a time of sharing following.

Gloria Joubert Bourque passed away on August 3, 2024, at the Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Born on March 15, 1944, Gloria lived a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments.

Gloria had a special gift of humor that she graciously shared with all who knew her. Her talent for making people laugh with her jokes was truly remarkable and brought light to the lives of those around her. Whether it was quick one-liner or a humorous story, Gloria's comedic spirit never failed to lift the spirits of others.

In addition to her talent for comedy, Gloria had a diverse set of interests and hobbies that brought her great joy throughout her life. She found solace in watching soap operas, engaging in lively card games – especially "Bourre," showcasing her culinary skills in the kitchen as an excellent cook and indulging in reading books that sparked her imagination. She especially loved spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. In her later years, she enjoyed finding peace in observing the beauty of nature through watching the birds outside her window, especially doves that would visit her bird feeder.

Gloria Joubert Bourque will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and warmth that will continue to resonate with those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her son, Edward Paul Bourque and his wife, Deneen Speyrer Bourque; her daughters, Tammy Bourque Richard and her husband, Charlie Richard, Valerie Bourque Walls and her husband, Troy Walls, and Brandy Bourque; her brother, Bruce Joubert. Gloria's boundless love also extended to her grandchildren, Samantha, Jessica, Holly, Michael, Kelley, Kelsey as well as her nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Paul Bourque; her parents, Edward and Lizzie Joubert; her sister, Nettie Joubert Vidrine; and her grandson, Charles "CJ" Richard, Jr.
