Glenn Lavergne

Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Glenn Gerard Lavergne at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. Reverend James Brady will conduct the service. Burial will be held in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mr. Lavergne, age 67, a resident of Lake Charles, La., died on Friday, March 21, 2014, at his residence.

Glenn served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a 1964 graduate of A.I.C. He worked for the F.B.I and as an insurance salesman for BankersLife and Casualty. Glenn enjoyed sports and loved cooking. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his mother, Renalla B. Lavergne, of Opelousas, La. his sisters, Delores Lavergne Ponciano and husband, Edgar, of Guatemala, Central America Mary G. Shaffer and husband, Michael, of Baton Rouge, La. his brother, Ray E. Lavergne and wife, Pat, of Abbeville, La. one uncle, Rodney Guidry, Sr. of Lafayette several cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Louvet Lavergne his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Josephine Lavergne and his maternal grandparents, Ellis and Arista Breaux.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
