Glenn Juneau

Funeral services will be held for Glenn Louis Juneau on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Deacon Jerry Wyble will conduct the service.  Burial will take place at the Juneau Family Cemetery in Evergreen, La. (918 Hwy. 361, Evergreen, LA  71333)

It is with deep sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Glenn Louis Juneau, age, 73, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La.

Glenn graduated from Cottonport High School in 1967 and attended Northeastern Louisiana University, where he received a pharmacy degree. He married on June 7, 1969, to the love of his life and companion of 53 years, Sandra Franchebois.  He owned and operated Glenn’s Family Pharmacy in Opelousas and was a pharmacist for 50 years.  At the age of 50, Glenn returned to school, attending Delgado Community College in New Orleans earning his mortician degree.  Glenn was very active in several clubs and organizations.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Opelousas and the Shriners.  He belonged to the Antique Automobile Club of America, the Louisiana Region Evangeline Chapter, the Vintage Motorcar Club of America, the Texoma Region Fredericksburg Chapter and the Aero modelers of Acadiana. Glenn also loved collecting Marx Antique Trains and enjoyed traveling in antique car tours.  Most of all, he enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and the company of his constant companion, Tilly.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Franchebois Juneau; his daughter, Krista Fontenot, and husband, Euney; his son, Darren Juneau and wife, Amy; his grandchildren, Brittney Ducote and husband, Gage, Brandon Guillory and companion Nicole, Connor Juneau, Gavin Juneau, Haley Leblanc and husband, Mason and his great-granddaughter, Amelia Ducote.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther, and Corinne Armstrong Juneau.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Connor Juneau, Gavin Juneau, Andrew Lavergne, Tyler Franchebois, Jonny Falgout and Josh Gardemal.  Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Guillory.

The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Gillespie and all the doctors, nurses and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, especially Dr. Morgan, Bonni and Mandy for the care and compassion they gave.
