Krotz Springs - A funeral service will be held for Glenda Downs, age 64, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will conduct the service. Burial will be held at the First Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Melville, LA.

Mrs. Downs, a resident of Melville, LA, died on Sunday, October 16, 2016.

Glenda loved playing in her puzzle books and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her father, Henry L. Ellis, Jr.; her daughters, Carol Woodard and husband, Paul; Samantha Downs and 11 brothers and sisters. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Becky Mouton, Ashley Reifer, Kimberley Ellis, Joshua Ellis, Adam Woodard, Amanda Downs and five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Reifer, Aiden Barber, Breyland Ellis, Wendy Lou Woodard and Sophia Barber.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry H. Downs; her mother, Bennie Adair Ellis and her grandchild, Paul Woodard, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lanclos, Jr., James Glenn Ellis, Charles Woodard, Brandon Ellis, James Ellis, Jr. and Travis Ellis.
