Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Mass, officiated by Father Gregory Simien, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. A Christian Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Gladys Bopeep Mistric received a call for a journey to a place from which she will be returning in spirit only. This new life will lead her to a reunion with many of her family members and old friends. In her new life, she will be socializing with ears to hear and understand, eyes that see clearly and eating to her heart's content. She reached her eternal destiny with dignity and grace surrounded by her family who loved her more than words can express. She will truly be missed.
Bopeep was born on December 9, 1934 and began her new assignment on July 11, 2016. She grew up and lived most of her life in Opelousas, LA. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Bopeep was an accomplished seamstress; she loved creating clothes for her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was a much loved actress at the Opelousas Little Theater where every role she played was guaranteed to keep you in stiches. She enjoyed watching the Saints and the LSU Tigers football games. But most of all, she loved her family, every member of which gave her the utmost pleasure and pride. Bopeep was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and for many a favorite aunt.
Her spirit is carried on by her four surviving children, Dennis Ferrall of Baytown, TX; Wayne Ferrall and wife, Tammy, of Centerville, TX; Cynthia and husband, Randy Martin of Nuba, LA; Linda and husband, Moses Salazar, of Pasadena, TX; her grandchildren, Ethan, Spencer, Chad, Derek, Rusty, Crystal, Lisa Anne and her great-grandchildren, Alli, Thubten, Joseph, Ella, Katelyn, Annabelle, Laylah, Anne Marie and Jack. They have been the light of her life and gave her extreme pride. Her siblings Gloria Lastrapes and husband, Ed, of Opelousas, LA, Carl Mistric and wife, Mary Ann, of Baton Rouge, LA, and James "Buster" Mistric and wife, Sandra, of Opelousas, LA will also be missing her dearly. Few people in the world are privileged to have such beloved siblings. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but always precious to her and never forgotten.
She slipped away and joined her husband, Larry Tepee; her son Steve Ferrall, her mother Gladys Mistric, her father Carlton Mistric and her sister Ruth Newlin in Heaven.
Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
