Gladys Fontenot

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Gladys Deville Fontenot, age 86, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Plaisance, La. The Reverend James Brady will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Fontenot, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System.

Gladys will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Merryl Fontenot of Dayton, Texas her daughters, Mary Novella Jones and husband, Charles Ray, of Grand Prairie, La. Lucy Ann Perry and husband, Dale, of Grand Prairie, La. Beryl Lane Bergeron and husband, Rodney, of Prairie Ronde, La. her daughterinlaws, Linda Fontenot of Ville Platte, La. Pam Fontenot of Grand Prairie, La. her brother, Paul F. Deville and wife, Paula, of Ville Platte, La. her sisters, Della Fuselier of Ville Platte, La. Harris Leger of Mississippi and Anna M. Andrepont of Ville Platte, La. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave TDave Fontenot her daughter, Berna Soileau her sons, John Winton Fontenot, Dave Fontenot, Jr. her daughterinlaw, Connie Fontenot and her grandchildren, Casey Perry and Randall Vidrine.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
